As a child, I always loved to sing and was very often found on our backyard swing...singing, singing and singing. I soon joined my mother, Robin, taking singing lessons and performing with a group of talented performers called “Happiness Is…”. I learned from her, the joy of sharing my gift with others.

My very first collection of songs was recorded in my basement for a high school Theatre Arts project. I had always been a fan of Judy Garland, so I picked my favourites (Embraceable You, The Trolley Song, Look for The Silver Lining… just to name a few) and with the help of my dear neighbour Helen Hughes on the piano, I was on my way. I still have that old dusty cassette tape with its microphone pops, vocal mistakes and tiny stars that my teacher, Mr. Brown marked beside his favourite songs. The seed was planted.
As my career unfolded, I was fortunate to follow my heart and the opportunities that were presented to me. I was contracted by the prestigious Stratford Festival to be part of the original cast of The Mikado. The show was widely received and after its season at Stratford, Mirvish Productions took the show on an international tour with extended performances across Canada, and throughout the United States, including on Broadway in New York City. This production also had the honour of opening the Old Vic in London England. It was an exciting time to be traveling the world and working with such amazing performers and meeting people like Princess Anne and Pierre Elliott Trudeau who came to see our show. The Mikado was nominated for 2 Tony Awards and 7 Dora Mavor Moore Awards.

While the stage has been my first love, I also had the privilege to work with producer /director Kevin Sullivan who brought the much loved Anne of Green Gables series to the screen. I was cast as the “other woman”, Elvira Evans in the Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. I was then cast by Kevin Sullivan to play Evelyn Morrow is his film Lantern Hill. It was wonderful to be involved in these period pieces and to go back in time...oh the costumes…just heaven!!

During this time, I was in the studio recording my own songs. I was pleased to be recognized with a New Talent Award and 2 Songwriter’s Awards from FACTOR and to be included on 2 of their Compilation CD’s, which were distributed across Canada. It was at this time that I was drawn back to the idea of a collection of timeless classics. This is when the concept of “Treasured Memories Music” was born.

I wanted to create something very special, something that would warm the heart and calm the soul. I felt with the challenges in our world and in our lives that we needed something gentle…something to take us back to our own treasured memories.

In my search to start "Treasured Memories: Quiet Moments", I was introduced to the talented David Warrack. David’s performance on the piano, with his rich arrangements of these 30’s & 40’s timeless classics helped make my dream become a reality. Thanks David.

My dream continued with my second CD, Treasured Memories: Christmas Classics. These traditional Christmas songs have always been close to my heart. With this CD, I used a different creative team to achieve something a little different, something very special. The gifted John Sheard, led the team with his skill on the piano and his arrangements of each song’s gentle orchestration. I was also fortunate to have John produce this CD. It was wonderful to be working in the studio with John and Nik Tjelios an amazing engineer at Casa Wroxton Studio. Thanks guys, you were a joy to work with.

My dream continues with the completion of Treasured Memories: Classic Ballads. A collection of beautiful ballads that dominated the radio air waves in the 70’s and touched us in so many ways. The wonderful and talented John Sheard again created and produced this special CD. With his very intimate arrangements and the addition of David Wipper on acoustic guitar, this CD is truly a treasure.

I have been blessed to be receiving radio air play in Canada, the U.S. and this year I plan to introduce my CD series across the seas to International markets.

My dream continues. As with the success of my CD series…I hope to be back in the studio to record my next CD…more timeless classics.

My hope is that this music touches your life as it has touched mine.
